Question #1:

What should I do about my lip piercing? (Link to pic included)?

So I got my lip pierced about three months ago, professional piercer, sterile tools, etc. No problems after the first couple of days. About a month after I got it pierced, I went back to the piercer to switch out the stud for a surgical steel ring. Again, sore for a couple of days but nothing after that. But then, every few days it might randomly get tender and hurt, just for a day.
Three days ago, it started hurting and swelling. I've been putting triple antibiotic cream on the outside and using mouthwash for the inside a couple times a day. Mostly it just hurts if I accidentally move it.
But I took a look at it, and discovered the inside of my lip has like a rut in it from where the ring rests, and it's not looking so good. It's getting irritated dead or healing tissue around the edges of the rut and those are the parts that hurt so much. Today I moved the piercing aside to see the rut and it started bleeding a little bit.

I swear it doesn't look as bad just looking at it in the mirror as it does in the picture, but there it is...

So what do you think? Is it infected? What do I do about it? I really don't want to take it out, I spent money and pain getting it in there, and my tissue heals REALLY fast; my earlobes once grew over the backs of earrings I'd had in for a while, and when my nose piercing fell out it healed up in the couple of hours it took me to notice.
But how should I treat it? I keep thinking I shouldn't leave it in that rut, that I should move it around so it doesn't try to heal over or whatever, but I assume that would also stop it from healing like it should...
By the way, the yellowish-whitish part is skin, not pus. It's not oozing at all really, except for when it started bleeding...
And my lip is so chapped on that side because it's been difficult to use chapstick like I usually do without moving the piercing.
I don't think it's ripped exactly... it's hard to tell in the picture because I'm pulling my lip down, but where all the white skin is, that whole rut is just where the ring lays naturally. Like, a stud just makes a little circle-shaped divot because it's a tiny little plate, but a ring isn't flat and has to lay somewhere... I'm not sure if the rut was there before or only since my lip started swelling, since now that it's swollen, the ring is pretty tight on it.

Question #2:

can you use a real captive ring if you don't have a peircing?

i'm going to a themed party and i need a fake lip/tongue piercing. i've read that you can get a captive ring and take off the bead and just put it over your lip? idk, can you do that? i don't even know what a captive ring is, i've looked it up but i'm still confused. please help.

Prolouge:
A silhouette of a tall figure stood in a large living room, gazing down a glass window. It watched the moving cars and the people walking going about their day, in the city of Seattle Washington. How innocent this world was, it though. How they did not know that death could just come in an instance. The figure was so absorbed into its thoughts that it almost missed the movement and shuffling behind it.
The figures eyes slowly narrowed, looking to its right.
“Henry?”, said the figure.
“Madam Aurelia”, a soft whisper voice said.
The figure turned around fully, facing the man who had answered.
“Princess Almira sent me”, he said. Aurelia observed the man with her appealing eyes.
The man had a faded cut that ran down diagonally across his forehead, and ended close to his lips. He wore a long jacket, with gloves and a matching hat.
“Henry”, Aurelia said sharply, her voice was penetrating like needles. The man swallowed before he spoke, clenching his fist.
“Are you ready for today?”, Henry asked looking straight at Aurelia, but his hands slowly moved towards the buttons on his jacket and began to open them.
Aurelia walked towards Henry, her face now was so close to his that she could smell his breath. “Aren’t you forgetting something?”, she asked staring into his eyes, almost into his soul. Henry was frightened and scared. He knew what Aurelia was, and if one mistake was attempted he would surely be slayed.
“I- I brought everything, you could have asked for”, he said stuttering. Aurelia smiled at her ability to turn any emotion into fear.
“Don’t you remember what I told you to bring”, she said her eye’s looked like glass.
“Y-yes, you s-said to bring t-this”, he said trying to avoid the women’s gaze on him, as he reached into the pockets of his jacket. He took out a small iron ring, with a green crystal attached to it.
Aurelia grabbed the ring from his gloved fingers, and placed it on her own delicate long ones.
“This ring masks my real form”, Aurelia explained gazing at the shiny crystal on the ring.
“Of course”, Henry said also staring at the ring.
“Never mind this”, Aurelia said as she walked over to a closet and flew it open.
“It looks like it’s going to rain”, she said, and pointed at the window using her head.
Henry looked and saw that she was right. The sky had darkened, and the clouds had turned gray. He could hear thunder in the distance.
Henry watched Aurelia as she wore her long leather coat and high heel boots.
Aurelia was extremely beautiful. She had solemn green eyes that showed no emotion, her long brown hair came up to her hips, and her figure was very slender. She was the women of every man’s dream.
“Why are you gawking at me like that?”, Aurelia smirked, noticing him gazing at her stupidly. “You are here to assist me, even though I told Princess Almira perfectly well that I would be fine without one of her stupid men”.
Henry shook his head. “Princess does worry about you quiet well, madam”, Henry said his masking his fear.
When Henry was first told to assist Aurelia he refused, knowing there was no doubt he would land in deep shit. But the Princess was persistent; she really did care for half sister. Henry did not want to wind up getting hurt or wind up dead. He was still young at 23 years old.
“Madam?”, Henry asked, as Aurelia was brushing her long hair in the mirror. Henry’s breath was caught in his throat from her beauty.
“Yes?”, Aurelia answered. Henry cleared his throat before he spoke.
“How long have you been watching her?”.
Henry knew how Aurelia’s kind worked. That was the reason he was here.
“For 10 years”, she answered.
“And today is her 18th birthday”.
Henry nodded.
“How will she understand what is going to happen to her”, he asked.
“She will, after she gets use to it”, she said looking at Henry through her mirror.
“She may not want to, but she will be forced”.
Henry cringed at the thought of being forced to do something against his will.
“Do you remember the plan? Don’t you?”, she asked as she gently placed the brush on her dresser.
Henry nodded. Even though he was against everything they were about to do, there was nothing he could do to stop it.
“Good”, Aurelia said as stood up from her chair.
“Now go wait for me in the car, I have to do something”.
Henry nodded, and quietly walked to the front door of Aurelia’s apartment. He opened it, but before leaving he looked at Aurelia. She stood extremely still in the darkness, with her eyes closed.
Whatever she was doing had made the apartment extremely cold. Henry turned around and stepped out, closing the door behind him.
All of a sudden he could hear high piercing screams from inside her apartment. Henry covered his ears and fell onto his knees. He could feel the blood oozing from one of his ear, as he got up and ran down the stair case as fast as possible.

The screams were just faint now.

Thinking about piercings...help me out here!?

So I want to get either my eyebrow, lip, or lobes pierced (I'm probably going to go with popular vote among my friends, especially the ladies :]). I hate plugs and everything about them. So, although the icicles are cool, they're just not me. So I'm going for barbells.

I wanted to know if it's possible to put the normal-sized barbells in my ear-lobes/eyebrow piercings (not my lip,that'd have to be a ring) and if I'd have to wait some time to get the barbells inserted or what to expect should I get the piercings done.

I have had my lip done for 3 weeks, at first, the piercing man said to wash it with peroxide and neosporin, twist the ring often, and to come back in 10 days to get a smaller ring... well when I came back, the other man told me DO NOT use peroxide or neosporin, (just soap and water), DO NOT twist, (leave it alone), and they DO NOT switch the jewelry for 6 weeks.

The man noticed it was a little red and irratated. Well this happened 1 week ago, so now my lip is still red, it DOESN'T hurt, I only wash with soap and water (Dove Soap), and there is a small bump on the inside my lip under the ring.

Does it look infected, I am very concerned..

& if it IS infected, then what do I do? Does the lip ring have to be removed?
***AND MY LIP ISN'T SWOLEN, PEOPLE TEND TO THINK IT IS, BUT I HAVE FULL LIPS!!!***

lip ring questions!!!!!?

k so obviously i want a lip ring. i would like to no...on a scale of 1-10 for the pain level ?(i don't handle pain very well) how long is the healing process? in the future if i decide i don't want it anymore how noticeable will the scar be? any other information would be great. but more importantly how to convince my parents into letting me get it done (they r totally against piercings and tattoos) thx in advance!
btw i hav never had any peircings other than my ears (which i dont remember cause i was so little) so plz dont relate the pain to any other peircings

So i want my lip pierced and i know i can do it at home. my sister said the whole just looks like a scar from a pimple. i can use makeup to cover it. and i dont want it to get infected. so i can keep the ring on all night and put it in at school. and i really wanna pierce my lip. and my parents are really strict about that. any tips on how to do it and do it safe and secretive? thanks. <3

my acting teacher says i should take my lip ring out for his 2 hour, 20 minute class. i've now had my piercing for about a month and a half. would i be able to remove my jewelry for that long and still be able to put it back in? i've been wearing a 16g ring.

ps - don't consider the retainer thing... that's not what i need. i need to be lip ring free.
ALSO. do you think putting a stud in instead of a ring would be more efficient for speech work?

HELP!! What can i do about my piercing?!?

Okay, I got my lip pierced four weeks ago, and I took it out at school today for around an hour and 40 minutes. I tried to put my lip ring back in, but I couldn't. So I got home and tried to put my stud in, which is easier to get in but that wouldn't go in either. I was panicking and put a sterilized earring through the hole, but that made the hole close up smaller.

So, should i wait for the hole to close up and re-pierce it professionally like before??
Or should i sterilize a needle and try and stretch the hole bigger.

I tried pushing it through, but it hurt too much and i could only get it a little way in either end. I'll go back this weekend and have them re-pierce it. (:

is my new lip ring infected?

i got it done 2 weeks ago. i was told to keep rotating it, clean it with peroxide, soap, and neosporin, and come back in 10 days when the swelling went down to get a smaller diameter lip ring, so i did.
when i came back, there was a different person and he said NOT to rotate it, & NOT use peroxide or neosporin, just soap and water. He also said they do not exchange for a smaller diameter until 6 weeks passes. He also noticed that my lip looked a little irritated, (red around the ring).
Where the hole is in my lip is a little red and it keeps slightly scabbing up, but the scab goes away. it is also white right around the ring, but only if i move it.

is it infected? and if so, how do i take care of it without going to the doctor and getting it taken out?
